when reality strikes

Ever wonder what happens when a “new paradigm” comes up against real-world ethical lapses?

In a statement, Duffy hints at lofty plans for his new firm. "We intend to become the paradigm that a new generation of intellectual property firms will seek to follow," he said.

And where will they be following him?

Principal John T. Duffy is a legal marketing specialist who is admitted to the bar in Rhode Island. But the fact that he has no credentials in Connecticut as a lawyer is not made clear on the firm’s stationery or in its marketing materials, as required by Connecticut Practice Book rules.

A new paradigm doesn’t wait for those pesky ethical rules, I guess.
