Kid Inventors

www.about.com has great information on almost anything you can fathom.  One of these subjects is Inventions Made By Kids.

I didn't uncover any great inventions by kids in their first decade, but some big inventions were made by those under 20.  The first wireless telephone was invented by a 18 year old.  A 15 year old invented ear-muffs, and the TV was invented by a 14 year old.  A 15 year old invented Braille, and an 11 year old the Popsicle.  A sixteen year old invented the Scruncci, Recently a 15 year old invented larvasonic, which is great for mosquito killing in light of the West Nile Virus.

There are also plentiful great inventions by those under 30.  Alexander Graham Bell invented the first telephone at 29 years of age, and color TV was the work of a 23 year old.  The Dewey decimal system was invented by a 21 year old, and the circular saw by a 29 year old woman.

Having just turned 30, I was starting to wonder whether my life was on the right track, but Thomas Edison didn't invent the light bulb until he was 32.  That gives me nearly two years, before being forced to research great inventors under 40.
