THEY GET IT - UNDERSTANDING THE VALUE OF INNOVATION
Congratulations and kudos to Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation, who recognized more than 30 San Diego and Los Angeles-based employees for their innovative contributions that have led to over two-dozen patents covering data warehouse and other related computer technologies.
?Innovation is the fuel for the growth of high-tech companies,? said Alan Chow, senior vice president, Teradata research and development. ?We have seen significant growth in our patent activity in previous years. Building a strong portfolio of patents is a key way for Teradata to drive revenue growth while protecting innovations which benefits our customers.?
Building a strong patent portfolio that is tied to the business plan and overarching business goals of a company is important in our complex and rapidly evolving technology based ecomonoy. The companies that invest in the innovation and reward and acknowledge their employees efforts - what a novel concept that will hopefully catch on!
Of course, Teradata is the company that champions "sharpening your customer focus" through the Teradata Center for Customer Relationship Management at Duke University, which "advances the field of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) through Research and Learning." This global think tank is based at Duke's Fuqua School of Business and was established in January 2001 through a grant from the Teradata Division of NCR.
